A kilowatt hour (kWh) is a unit of measurement that equals the amount of energy you would use if you kept a 1,000 watt appliance running for an hour.
It is not a measurement of how many kilowatts you're using per hour.
For example, a 100 watt lightbulb would use 1kWh for every 10 hours it was kept switched on. Whereas a 2,000 watt oven would use 1kWh within half an hour.
