A kilowatt hour (kWh) is a unit of measurement that equals the amount of energy you would use if you kept a 1,000 watt (1kW) appliance running for an hour.

An easy way of explaining this is to take our charge points as an example. A 7kW charge point would deliver 7kWh of electricity in an hour, whereas a 3.5kw charge point would take 2 hours to deliver the same amount of electricity.

A kW is a measurement of power being drawn currently, and a kWh is a measurement of how much energy has been drawn over time.
