MOST IMPORTANTLY: PLEASE ENSURE YOU FOLLOW THE PROMPTS ON YOUR DEVICE AS PER THE STEP BY STEP PROCESS WHEN USING THE CHARGE POINT.
You can access the required charger page by the following options :
- Open your char.gy app and select the charger from the map view (this should always default to your current location)
- Enter the charger ID number into the search bar at the top of the app
- Use the List view to select a charger from either the Nearby, Recent, or Favourites menus.
Starting your charge session
- Once you are on the charge point page, you will either need to log in if you have an account or you can authorise a charge using Apple Pay / Google Pay. (Please refer to our guides on How to set up an account with Char.gy or How to use Apple Pay or Google Pay to charge your vehicle for more information).
- After this, you should be able to press Charge and then you should see a message prompting you to Connect cable to the charge point. At this point, plug the cable into the charge point.
- The charging page will say Preparing and then ask you to please plug the cable into your car. The charging page will then ask you to Start Charge; please select this and then wait until it says Charging along with how many kWhs you've received as part of the charging session so far. Until you see this, the car is not yet charging. You will also receive an SMS to confirm your car has started charging.
Finishing your charge session
- When you are ready to finish charging please click the Finish charging and release cable button followed by Yes - finish the charge. The charge should finish and the cable should unlock. If the cable does not unlock, please refer to our guide My cable is stuck in the charge point.
- Please exit the app.
